Lakeland Dairies have been given planning permission for a single storey extension to its Killeshandra location.
The plans that received the green light this week by Cavan County Council are for a containing storage, packaging, and dispatch area with a link corridor to the existing production/warehouse building.
A single storey unloading dock extension to the existing production warehouse is also included in this approved application.The relocation of a transformer, the erection of a 15 meter high silo, and all associated ancillary site works.
According to planning documents, the Lakeland facility in Killeshandra accepted almost 170 million litres of whole milk during 2023. As part of this approved planning notice by the local authority the milk intake at the site will now increase by 19%. The site currently operates under EPA License and a Natura Impact Statement (NIS) were submitted to the Planning Authority with the application. County planners give the local firm the go ahead with 7 conditions attached.
