Plans to build 36 new homes on the outskirts of Cavan town has been approved after an initial proposal was rejected by local planners last year.
Latt Properties Ltd have been given the go-ahead by Cavan County Council last week in respect of a site in the townland of Creighan for 36 new homes. The approved plans comprise of a mix of single and two-storey units, ranging in design from one-bed to three bed homes.
The development will also includes a new access road to the Ballinagh Road, along with all associated site works. The council blocked the last set of plans stating that if granted it would “result in a substandard form of development in terms of open space provision, and poor standard of design.
Cavan County Council approved the plans subject to 43 conditions being carried out and despite a number of submissions being filed by local residents. A number of submissions detailed how residents remained concerned about pedestrian access and traffic congestion worries.
