The death has been announced of Bernie Sherry from Scotstown in Co. Monaghan,
Bernie highlighted the importance of promoting detection and to understand the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
She contributed to programmes on the station a number of times in an effort to help others.

The Monaghan woman has been named the Specsavers Smile Maker 2020 for her continued openness around her cancer battle. Bernie was also known for highlighting isolation and loneliness in rural areas and how important it was to reach out to people that maybe alone in the rural parts of the region.
