A grassroots Fianna Fail member in Cavan says Bertie Ahern should be welcomed back to the party.
After calls from other party members, the Taoiseach indicated yesterday that he'd open to the former leader returning.
Mr Ahern resigned from the party ten years ago, in the wake of the Mahon Tribunal.
The tribunal found he failed to 'truthfully account' for the sources of money he lodged into his bank account in the 1990s.
Noel Hartnett told The Joe Finnegan Show that Bertie's successes shouldn't be forgotten.
