Grants of between five and fix thousand euro have been announced for several local agricultural shows.
The Arva and Virginia Shows will benefit from the funding in Co Cavan, while the Castleblayney and Tydavnet shows in Co Monaghan will also receive an allocation.
The move was announced today by local Minister Heather Humphreys, who says she intends to visit some of the shows herself after an absence due to covid.
In total, around €700,000 is being across 119 agriculture shows nationwide.
Elsewhere, Minister Humphreys also welcomed the approval of over €313,000 in LEADER programme funding to the Irish Shows Association, which will be used to support the roll out of a National Shows Management software system.
This funding was approved by the Local Action Groups in Monaghan, Mayo, Cork West and Galway East.
