Monaghan communities which have "welcomed and hosted significant numbers of arrivals from Ukraine and other countries" can now avail of a grant. €914,000 has been allocated to the county under this funding initiative which allows an minimum of €50,000 of funding to each group that is successful.
Monaghan County Council has identified four communities, which have welcomed "high levels of new arrivals" including Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Clones and Ballybay. Now, the council is seeking expressions of interest for the minimum grant amount of €50,000 for project proposals from community groups in those areas.
The money can be spent on play areas, walkways and parks; local sports or afterschool facilities and for the purchase of equipment for local clubs, festivals and groups. Proposed project details within the identified areas should be submitted by Wednesday, May 1st.
