The Government has been called on to investigate allegations made against the meat processing industry.
Local TD Matt Carthy says there are "cartel like practices" in the sector and an investigation is needed.
It's reported the IFA is looking for evidence of non competitive processes in the industry but Deputy Carthy says it's the role of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and not the role of the IFA.
However, he says the CCPC has refused to carry out an investigation.
