The government has been accused of misusing transport funding to discriminate against Monaghan.
Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy was speaking after he called on the Public Expenditure Minister to revisit the decision to shelve the N2 project from Clontibret to the border.
Deputy Carthy said that in January Minister Eamon Ryan reversed the decision to shelve other similar projects because of demands from Government party TDs, and questioned why the N2's status didn't change.
Taking questions in the Dail recently, Minister Michael McGrath said the Government will look at the plans.
