A Cavan disability campaigner says more robust enforcement is needed to deter motorists from taking disabled parking spaces.
David Cahill from Ballyjamesduff has been campaigning on this and other issues affecting people with additional needs for many years. He said blue badge holders are often abused when they approach an able-bodied driver in a disabled spot.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier, Mr Cahill called for a public text reporting facility where "good Samaritans" can report vehicle registrations and other details of illegal parking to a national portal for gardaí to follow up (listen below):
