A gold exploration company says there may be more gold at a Co Monaghan site than previously thought.
Conroy Gold holds licences over a gold deposit in Clontibret, along a geographical region known as the Longford-Down Massif.
Conroy Gold recently drilled two holes at the Clontibret site as part of its "due diligence programme".
The drilling was undertaken by Demir Export, a Turkish company that has entered into a joint venture with Conroy Gold.
The Chair of Conroy Gold, Professor Richard Conroy, said the works indicate that "there is the potential to increase the overall gold content of the deposit".
He added that Demir Export has the mining expertise and financial resources to bring the Clontibret gold deposit to construction ready status and to advance the "significant gold potential of the other licences along the gold trend".
