A new study estimates that the global death toll from Covid-19 could be as high as 18.2 million, three times higher than previously thought.
The official number of recorded deaths is 5.9 million, however The Lancet medical journal suggests the full impact of the pandemic to be far greater.
In Ireland there have been over 6,500 Covid-19 deaths to date.
