Tributes have been paid to Brendan McKenna, the father of Glaslough actor Charlene, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday. Brendan and his wife, Josie, will be best remembered from their time running The Pillar House pub and a guesthouse in Glaslough.
The father of five boys and Charlene, Brendan was also grandfather to 16. Tributes remember Brendan McKenna as a "kind-hearted" man who was "always up for a chat" and "who was held in high esteem by anyone who had the privilege of knowing him".
Charlene McKenna, who has appeared in hit productions like Peaky Blinders alongside Cillian Murphy and RTÉ's Clean Sweep has spoken in the past about returning from a hectic acting schedule to the pleasant surroundings of Glaslough and her parents.
