A Glangevlin man with a background in musical theatre is bringing a new production, to the stage in Dublin. Cormac Fitzpatrick will direct a musical led by kids and aimed at all the family, which delivers the climate change crisis message in a fun and engaging way.
The Climate Kids Musical portrays the reality of the crisis facing today's planet with a witty storyline, music and dance numbers without mentioning the term climate change. It will debut next Friday, the 12th of July at the Sean O'Casey Theatre in the East Wall, Dublin.
Cormac told Northern Sound, the production is a new way to view the issue, which, is only usually discussed in the news: "So, I've a lot of industry experience and having that experience makes it a lot easier to recognise how good this is and that's me being biased but, I genuinely believe this is a fantastic show and it's got something for everybody," Cormac told the Joe Finnegan Show, "And, the message that the show [delivers] is just something that everyone needs to hear because as I said, people don't really know this part of climate change because they may only see it in the news and certainly the kids being the main characters in the show; the kids don't watch the news."
