Unions are warning that getting rid of EU workers' rights could destabilise Northern Ireland .The TUC says there'll be issues if employees north of the border lose protections that their counterparts in the Republic retain under European law.
Police in the region have stepped up security over fears dissident Republican groups will target celebrations this weekend, marking 25 years since the Good Friday Agreement. Former British Army chief - General Richard Dannatt - says peace was hard won in the region.
"That vindicates the politics of hope, if you like. I for one am rather supportive of hope. Life without hope is often not a lot. We hope for better times in Northern Ireland because people have got them there now," he added.
