From today, gardaí will sport some new style, costing in the region of €15 million euro.
The contract to manufacture and supply the new uniforms was awarded to Monaghan-based James Boylan Safety, a local company that specialises in operational uniforms and protective supplies.
A new Garda uniform comes into operation, comprising of a new blue polo shirt, two tone Soft Shell Jacket and cargo style trousers.
However, the traditional hat will remain in place.
