Gardai have ruled out foul play after a man was found with serious head injuries in Carrickmacross last night.
The man in his 50s remains in hospital where he’s said to be in a critical condition following a fall.

The man was found on O’Neill Street in Carrickmacross at around 10.30pm.

He sustained serious head injuries and emergency services brought him to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment.
A Garda investigation was launched last night and the area was sealed off for examination.

It’s understood Gardai spoke to a number of witnesses and examined CCTV of the incident, but are satisfied it was accidental and are not treating it as assault.
