Gardai remain at the scene were a body of a man was discovered yesterday morning in Monaghan Town.
Local Gardai are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body shortly before 8am.
The body of the man in his 20s was found along a laneway on the outskirts of the town near the Mullaghmatt area of the town.
Gardai are currently at a farmyard just off the laneway were the body of the young man was discovered. The body of the man was removed shortly after 4pm for a post-mortem examination.
The results of which will determine the course of the investigation The State Pathologist was called in to carry out a preliminary examination of the body at the scene and a subsequent post-mortem examination was also carried out. The man is believed to have sustained a number of injuries but local Gardai are unsure how these occurred.
