Gardai in Monaghan are investigating after a car was stolen last night in the village of Ballinode.
A silver VW Passat with a 12 MN registration was taken at around 10.30 pm last night in the Riverside Close area of the village.
The car was recovered earlier today in the Milltown area of the county with slight damage to the vehicle.

Gardai in Monaghan town are appealing to anyone that may have seen anything suspicious in the Ballinode area or observed this car during the night in the Milltown area to contact them at Monaghan Garda Station.
