Gardai conducted a high visibility operation around Cavan town at the weekend.
The aim was to detect lifesaver offences.
Fines were issued in respect of bald tyres, non display of L-plates and the use of mobile phones while driving.
Meanwhile, one driver was arrested and processed for failing a roadside drug test.
Another driver was detected driving at speed in Bailieboro town.
When Gardai stopped the vehicle, the driver tested positive for both cocaine and cannabis.
He was subsequently arrested and will appear before the District Court in due course.
