Gardaí in Co Cavan are appealing for information following a spate of reported burglaries. A burglary was reported in Cavan Town at a house which was recently vacant. The incident took place between the hours of 4pm on the 16th of October and 5pm on the 17th of October in the Keadue area. A sum of cash, an engagement ring, an eternity ring and a gold necklace were all stolen. According to investigating Gardaí, these items hold huge sentimental value to the homeowner.
Elsewhere in Cootehill, opportunistic thieves struck whilst homeowners were at mass on the evening of Saturday the 19th of October between 7:15pm and 8:15pm at Corrygarry, Canningstown. The home was entered forcibly and rooms were ransacked. A brown lady's handbag containing a sum of money was stolen. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Also in Cootehill, Gardaí are investigating a burglary which took place on the same date (October 19th) on Station Road between 7:10pm and 8:30pm. A significant amount of jewellery, including gold rings, chains and bracelets were stolen from a house which was vacant at the time. Garda Lisa Stephens of Bailieboro Garda Station is appealing for anyone with information to come forward; "I'm seeking your help in solving some a number of crimes which occurred in Co Cavan over the last month.
