Local Gardaí are asking the public to help with their inquires after a number of thefts and burglaries were detected across the region.
On the 13th and 14th of October a vacant property was broken into at Cornakill, Kingscourt and a copper pipe and tank were taken.
Gardaí in Kingscourt are investigating the matter and are interested in hearing from anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, Gardaí in Monaghan are investigating after three burglaries took place in Castleblayney between the hours of 4pm and 8pm on the 4th of October last.
Two of the incidents occurred off the Shercock Road while the third happened at an address off the Dundalk Road.
Jewellery and cash were taken while the hard drive from the CCTV at one of the homes was also stolen.
Monaghan Gardaí are also asking the public to remain vigilant and secure their properties as the dark nights draw in.
Sergeant Michael Duffy told Northern Sound that criminals "take advantage" of the dark evenings so it's important for homeowners to ensure that lights are left on, particularly if they are away from home.
The local sergeant also advised those with alarms to ensure they are on.
