A new born baby who was critically injured in Co Louth, is not believed to have been hurt accidentally.
The nine-week-old girl is fighting for her life in Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin.
Gardai in Drogheda have opened an investigation into the incident, which happened on Tuesday.
Reporter Marc O'Driscoll, from LMFM, says Gardai are remaining tight-tipped about the case.
"One line of inquiry that is being followed that the child's injuries were not inflicted accidently," he continued.
"So an investigation is still in its early stages.
"Gardai are stressing that the full facts around how the girl sustained these injuries are still under investigation.
"They are trying to piece together the full facts around why this baby has ended up in a critical condition in hospital."
