Gardaí say they're working with the PSNI to investigate three burnt out vehicles in north Monaghan.
The two cars and a van were found burnt out in the Scotstown and Knockatallon areas in recent days after what the County Council has described as "suspected Halloween festivities".
The Council says the vehicles will be removed at "considerable cost" to it.
Speaking at the Monaghan Joint Policing Committee meeting today, local Councillor Cathy Bennett said people in the area are disappointed and want those responsible prosecuted.
Gardaí have said prosecutions are unlikely as evidence has likely been destroyed but they believe the incidents are linked to Halloween celebrations.
The meeting was also told Gardaí are working with the PSNI as similar incidents were reported in the Roslea area of Fermanagh in recent weeks.
