Gardaí in Cavan and Monaghan have used special powers given during the Covid-19 pandemic more than those in any other division.
A report from the Policing Authority released this lunchtime shows Gardaí in the division used the powers 37 times to the end of May.
This report shows Gardaí nationally used the special powers 289 times up to midnight on May 30th.
The powers allow Gardaí direct a person to comply with the Covid-19 regulations, demand their name and address or arrest them for failure to comply with directions or failure to comply with the regulations.
Cavan-Monaghan saw the powers used the most - 37 times - followed by Galway at 32.
Across the region, Gardaí in Sligo-Leitrim used the powers 11 times, Roscommon-Longford saw them used nine times and in Westmeath they were used eight times.
The North Western Region, which covers the Shannonside Northern Sound area, saw the highest usage of the powers at 119 - ahead of the Dublin area with a figure of 70.
