Gardai carried out extra patrols around the Sliabh Beagh area of north Monaghan this weekend after increased reports of anti-social behaviour.
This comes on the back of a known issue with dumping, with a calf in a black bag among the items discovered in recent days.
Concern has been raised that the unique environment in Knockatallon is at risk because of increased traffic of quads and scrambler, as well as littering.
Paddy Sherry from the Knockatallon Development Association says people visiting should appreciate where they are.
