Gardai have been carrying out searches around the village of Blacklion in Co Cavan this afternoon after a man was found dead there yesterday.
52-year-old Denis Neary was found in an apartment with serious head injuries yesterday afternoon.
Paramedics tried to resuscitate him but he died a short time later. A man in his 30s is being detained in relation to the incident, in Castlerea Garda Station, Co Roscommon. Local councillor John Paul Feely is appealing to anyone with information to come forward..
