Gardai are continuing to investigate a fatal collision that occurred on the N2 near Carrickmacross on Saturday night last.
The front seat passenger of the single vehicle crash, a man in his 40s died at the scene.
There was two other occupants of the car, both men, who were uninjured in the collision.
The collision, involving a car and a stray horse, happened on the northbound lane of the N2 at Creevy, close to Carrickmacross, at 9.20pm on Saturday night.
The horse died on impact.
The Northbound stretch of the N2 remained closed until yesterday afternoon to allow for a technical examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. They are also appealing to those with camera footage including dashcam from the area at the time, to make it available to them.
