Gardaí are this morning appealing for witnesses after a crash in Monaghan claimed the life of a man in his 50s.
Two other people involved were taken to hospitals in the North East.
A man in his 50s has died after he was involved in a crash on the N12 at Knockaconny in Monaghan yesterday morning.
It happened at around quarter-past-eleven and the man's body was removed from the scene for a post mortem. Two people who were in the other car involved were taken to Drogheda and Cavan Hospitals for treatment.
Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The road was closed for a time yesterday as a technical exam of the scene was carried out. Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have seen the crash, or anyone who has dash-cam footage, to come forward.
