Gardaí in Cavan are appealing for information following a spate of thefts. Over the past month, a number of incidents have been reported to Gardaí across the area. Gardaí in Virginia are investigating an incident of theft from a vehicle in Virginia which took place on the 2nd of October.
According to local Gardaí, the injured party withdrew a sum of money from a bank in a nearby town and was possibly followed back to Virginia where the sun of money was taken when the vehicle was left unattended for a short term. Gardaí are anxious to hear from anyone who may have observed a small red possibly Mazda vehicle, partial registration 08D121 acting suspiciously on the main street Virginia area on the 2nd of October. Elsewhere, Gardaí in Cootehil are also investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred in the Lisnageer area of Cootehill on the 4th of October. In this case, a van containing a large amount of power tools was broken into. A small vehicle again with a possible partial registration of 08D121 was observed in the area at the time of this theft, similarly to the incident in Virginia. In relation to these incidents, Garda Lisa Stevens of Bailieboro Garda Station, is encouraging anyone who has observed any suspicious vehicles or people in their area to contact them.
