Gardaí across Cavan have found a number of motorists driving under the influence of drugs in recent days.
Two cars were stopped in Cootehill by Bailieborough Gardai while on an Operation Fanacht checkpoint over the weekend.
One driver tried to avoid the checkpoint and was found to have no driving licence or insurance, while another driver on a learner permit with no accompanying qualified driver tested positive for cannabis.
Both vehicles were taken off the road.
Meanwhile, last night, the Cavan Roads Policing Unit were on crime patrols in Virginia and Bailieborough when they found a car that had crashed in the dense fog.
The driver tested positive for cocaine, and was arrested.
Court dates are to follow for each driver.
