Two males, one in his 50s and a teenage boy were injured and taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment.

The two off duty gardai had been on a night out in the city when they were assaulted in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The appeal comes following a number of burglaries in and around Monaghan town and surrounding areas.

It’s believed it was stolen in broad daylight while it was hitched on to the owner’s vehicle.

Yesterday, Gardai conducted searches on two separate houses in Drogheda County Louth in relation to the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Kyran Durnin.

The discovery of skeletal remains was made at approximately 4.30pm yesterday afternoon located close to Loughan House.
