Gardaí are looking at whether the man, who was 49 and originally from Latvia, died hours or even days before emergency services were called.

The Commissioner has directed that a Senior Investigating Officer from a Division external to the Louth-Cavan-Monaghan Division conduct a peer review of the case.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the disappearance of 8-year-old Kyran Durnin from Drogheda who has been missing since August 30th.

This exhumation comes two years after gardaí launched a cold case review into the death of Patrick Nugent. 

The body of man in his 30s was discovered.

A garda source said investigators are satisfied there was no visible signs of a break-in at Joan Ray's home.

Black smoke was seen billowing from the building, which is currently under renovation with plans to accommodate up to 500 international protection applicants.
