Gardaí have launched a murder investigation into the disappearance of 8-year-old Kyran Durnin from Drogheda who has been missing since August 30th.

This exhumation comes two years after gardaí launched a cold case review into the death of Patrick Nugent. 

The body of man in his 30s was discovered.

A garda source said investigators are satisfied there was no visible signs of a break-in at Joan Ray's home.

Black smoke was seen billowing from the building, which is currently under renovation with plans to accommodate up to 500 international protection applicants. 

Julieanne also dismissed claims on social media and elsewhere that her daughter had taken her own life.

It’s understood that he was the victim of a sustained and vicious assault.

Investigations are continuing to determine whether a head injury he suffered was the result of a fall or foul play.
