The Garda Community Engagement Van will be in several locations in Cavan today. The bespoke garda vehicles act as a mobile policing service in rural areas and provide opportunities for members of the public to come in, sit down and meet with members.
Anyone who has forms to complete, queries for gardaí, reports or any other concerns that officers can assist with are encouraged to come along to one of the Cavan stop points today or tomorrow. Gardai on board will also have leaflets on crime prevention, personal safety, farm security and other useful information. In particular, people who may know an elderly or vulnerable person or someone in their area who could benefit from such information at this time of year is asked to come along to the van today.
The Community Van is in Kilnaleck now until 12:30; Killeshandra Community Centre car park from 1 until 2pm; Bawnboy for an hour from 3 o'clock and Swanlibar from 4:30 until 5:30.
