New Garda Community Engagement Units have been set up across Cavan and Monaghan.
They were set up last month and officially launched at an event in Monaghan this morning.
Gardaí say these units "will centre on working in partnership with the community" to keep people safe, particularly the vulnerable or "hard to reach groups".
They'll be based in Carrickmacross, Monaghan, Cavan and Bailieborough stations, with 22 Gardaí working in the units.
They'll be overseen by Inspectors Ann-Marie Lardner and Lionel Mullally.
It's hoped that each unit will act as a point of contact for their communities and help build relationships with them.
The units were launched at an event in Monaghan today attended by Chief Superintendent Aidan Glackin and Justice Minister Heather Humphreys.
