Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing for information on an incident of criminal damage where petrol was poured over a recovery vehicle.
The incident happened in the Corrintra area of Castleblayney and was featured on RTE's Crimecall last night
According to Castleblayney Gardaí, on April 28th this year at around 5pm, they received a call from a member of the public who reported that petrol was poured over their recovery vehicle. The whole incident was captured on dashcam where the suspect can be seen driving a white Ford Transit with both number plates removed, The Ford Transit, which was travelling from the Annyalla direction, blocked the victim's lorry. The suspect then exited the vehicle carrying a jerry can, approached the victim, and poured what is believed to be petrol over the victim's lorry. He then returned to the van and as he drove away, gestured as if flicking a cigarette at the lorry. Gardaí are appealing for any information on a white Ford Transit Custom with roof bars manufactured between 2012 and 2017. The suspect is described as being in his 30's or 40's of medium build with brown hair and stubble. He was wearing a black hooded, waist-length jacket, a red beanie cap and a red t-shirt with a grey trim running along its button line.
