A Monaghan Senator is calling for insurance companies to pass on savings from reduced award pay-outs over the past two years to their customers.
According to Senator Robbie Gallagher, insurance costs have been highlighted repeatedly as excessive for businesses as well as for households, which is "particularly challenging" at a time of soaring inflation.
The volume of claims is now more than 30 per cent lower than in 2019.
Which according to Senator Gallagher shows that the reformed legislation introduced over the past two years is "clearly making a difference."
As a result, the Monaghan representative believes insurance companies "must respond in kind."
