A local councillor is continuing to call for an outside seating area to be established at Cavan General Hospital.
According to Cllr Peter McVitty, the issue of no seating has been brought to his attention by concerned patients on a number of occasions. As a result, the West Cavan representative has called on Cavan County Council to write to the management team of Cavan General Hospital and also the HSE again over this matter.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr McVitty said that a seating area is needed for patients who have "no other option" but to stand when wanting to get some fresh air. Cllr McVitty said that he is frustrated that he has not heard back from the HSE or hospital management and he is calling on them again to address the lack of any seating outside the hospital.
