The first funeral for a victim of the Creeslough explosion will take place this morning, when 24 year old Jessica Gallagher is laid to rest. It will be followed by the funeral of 49-year-old Martin McGill, which will take place later this afternoon.
11 candles have been placed on the alter of St Michael’s Church in Creeslough, to remember the 10 people who were tragically killed in the disaster, and one candle for those injured in the blast.
Archbishop of Armagh Eamon Martin says the entire country is grieving. "I am sure people all over the country are recalling their own losses at a time like this. I think it is at these times that we do reach out for God and we do reach out for faith, prayer and hope - Christian hope in the midst of it all," he added.
