Funeral to take place of Cavan GAA stalwart

PJ Carroll has been described by those who knew him as a special person who had a deep love for the GAA and it's people.

The funeral will take place later today of Cavan GAA stalwart PJ Carroll. The Cavan Gaels clubman and former manager of Cavan, Leitrim, and Sligo passed away earlier this week. In a long career in the GAA, he also served as PRO of the Cavan County Board and worked with the Anglo Celt newspaper.

PJ was part of the first Cavan Gaels Team to win the Cavan senior championship in 1965, with further successes in 1975 and 1977. The funeral mass of the late PJ Caroll will take place at the Cathedral of S.s Patrick and Felim, Cavan at 2.30pm this afternoon. Burial will take place afterwards in St Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry.
