The funeral mass of talented Cavan boxer, Harrison Jameson will take place later today.
The 23-year-old died following a crash on the A1 just outside Newry on Tuesday evening when the car he was driving came off the road.
The Ballyjamesduff native was an amateur boxer for the Virginia Boxing Club and had just recently turned professional with the view of making his debut soon.
In a heartfelt tribute posted to social media, Virginia Boxing Club said Harrison was a "credit" to the club, who watched him grow from a little boy into the man he was today.
The post stated that the 23-year-old had "everything in his hands ready for him" and was just about to have his first pro debut on November 19th.
Elsewhere, friends described him as a "beautiful young man" with one posting, "I had the pleasure of working with Harrison; everyone loved him, he had this easy going, gentle charm about him. He worked hard and he was always mannerly and helpful. He was an incredible young man, simply one of the best."
The funeral service of the late Harrison Jameson will take place in Bellasis Presbyterian Church this afternoon at two o'clock with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision has been launched and police are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Dublin Road /A1 area at around the time the collision occurred, or who may have witnessed the collision or captured it on their dash-cam to contact officers in the Collision Investigation Unit.
It is believed that the silver Ford Focus that Mr Jameson was driving came off the road sometime between 9.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday evening, October 18th.
