The funeral of former GAA president and Monaghan native, Sean McCague who passed away on Thursday will take place this afternoon.
He served from 2000 to 2003 and was a former chairman of the Board of Directors of Shannonside/Northern Sound Radio.
In his renowned GAA career Sean served as the 33rd President in which his legacy still remains.
The former school principal also managed the Monaghan Senior Football team to Ulster historical success in the 70s and 80's was always at the helm of the GAA association both locally and nationally.
Paying tribute, Bishop Larry Duffy described Mr McCague as a "legend" due to his immense contribution to the GAA.
He added that Mr McGague was a man of great Christian faith, a teacher, a school principal, and a family man who was totally devoted to his wife Bernie and five daughters.
The funeral mass of the late Sean McCague will take place at St Mary's Chapel, Urbleshanny at 12 noon today followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
