The Funeral Mass of Paddy Cole will take place later today. The veteran sax player, singer and Broadcaster died last week at the age of 85 after a long term battle with cancer. His funeral mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church, Castleblayney arriving for 12pm, followed by a private cremation.
The late Paddy Cole has been described as a true gentleman and son of Castleblayney. The Monaghan man played with such acts like the Capitol Showband, Brendan Bowyer and his own Paddy Cole Superstars. He was known as the ‘King of the Swingers’ and only celebrated his 85th birthday last month.
