The funeral for the young Co. Tyrone man who died following an incident at a lake in Aughnacloy at the weekend will take place on Thursday.
21-year-old Fiachra O'Faolain, will be laid to rest following funeral mass at St. Joseph's Church, Caledon. The body of the young engineer was recovered from a lake in the Carricklongfield area of Aughnacloy on Sunday after he entered the water late on Saturday night.
The family of Fiachra, including his aunt, Sinn Féin European election candidate for the Midlands-North West, Michelle Gildernew, paid tribute to the emergency services including the NI Fire and Rescue Service, police and Community Search and Rescue volunteers who attended the scene. The former employee of local firm, PM Engineering and past -pupil of Derrylatinee St Francis' school has been described as "a very likeable lad" with a "cheeky grin". Requiem mass for Fiachra will take p;lace at 12 noon in St Joseph'e Church with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
