A fundraiser is hoping to raise money for a Cavan woman suffering with debilitating back pain.
Mags Deane Smith, orginally from Kilcommon in Co.Mayo, but who has lived in Lavey for almost 20 years was diagnosed with Sagittal Imbalance Kyphosis.
This is a condition which deforms the spine and causes severe pain.
An online fundraiser to get Mags life-changing surgery in the UK has raised over 100-thousand of it's 200-thousand target.
Now, a major fundraiser run by neighbours and friends of the family is aiming to continue raising funds.
This event takes place on the 8th of September.
One of the organisers of the Tractor, Vintage Car, Bike, and Lorry run and neighbour of Mags, Emily McPhillips Sheridan, says it's important for Mags to be able to get her life back.
"My mam and dad were at their wedding so they've kind of seen what she's been through. She would have been a great community woman but because of her debilitating back pain it has put a big burden on her family and they're hoping that this life changing operation will help and us as a community are trying our best to get the funds up to where they need them, and hopefully Mags will be able to go over for surgery when the money is there."
