A fundraiser to make dreams come true for a 32-year-Cavan woman who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer has been launched.
Ciara O'Hanlon has a rare and aggressive form of Ewing Sarcoma which has resulted in multiple tumours spreading to her organs.
The medical team brought difficult news last week when they told Ciara, her finance and their 9-year-old daughter Eireann that Ciara's time here, is now limited.
Ciara's sister Orlaith told Northern Sound that one of her sister's greatest wishes is to get married.
And thanks to the fundraiser on GoFundMe - 'Ciara's Wishes' - a plan is now in place to ensure that a ceremony and celebration of those nuptials takes place in July.
Orlaith said the fundraiser will help to cover the costs of the wedding and ensure that Ciara and Eireann can also spend some quality and fun time together over the coming months.
She also added that Ciara herself is living for every moment of the day.
"Only for this wedding we don't know what we would do," said Orlaith.
"Ciara is just living for this wedding.
"It is giving all of us and Ciara something to look forward.
"Anytime it's mentioned, Ciara's smiles just shows she can't wait.
"In fact none of us can wait and we are all so looking forward to seeing Ciara in her dress."
