Funding of over €32,000 has been announced for two playgrounds in the Northern Sound region to make them more inclusive spaces.
The funding comes from the Play and Recreation Grant Scheme and provides money for refurbishment of existing playgrounds.
Nearly €16,000 is headed to Tullachmongan playground in Cavan town, while O'Neill Park playground, in Clones, will receive €16,500.
In the Shannonside region €15,162 has been allocated for upgrade works at Mohill Playground in Co Leitrim while are further €6,702 has been secured for Church View Playground in Boyle.
Local TD, Niamh Smyth, says "every child should be able to experience the joy and excitement that comes with playing outdoors".
The upgrades will include wheelchair accessible swings and sensory equipment.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Smyth said the funding will ensure these "playgrounds include play equipment that is accessible and encourages inclusion":
