Funding of over €2.8m has been announced for housing adaption grants across the Northern Sound region.
The grants are for older people and people with a disability and up to €30,000 is available to assist people with a disability in carrying out works to adapt their home.
Meanwhile, grants of up to €8,000 are available to assist older people to have necessary repairs or improvements carried out, as well as grants of up to €6,000 for mobility aids.
Increased funding is headed to each Local Authority, with €1.54m going to Cavan, the highest allocation locally, while Monaghan receives €1.3m.
The funding was announced today by Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien and Minister of State for Local Government and Planning, Peter Burke.
€81.25 million in funding for Housing Adaptation Grants has been made available nationwide.
