Funding of close to €23 million to National Roads and Greenways in the Northern Sound region.
The Allocations were made having regard to the priorities set out in the National Development Plan and the views of the Transport Minister, Eamon Ryan.
€6.6 million has been allocated to Co Monaghan, €2.1 million of which will be spent on pavement works on the N2 Castleblayney Bypass South.
Of the €6.6 million, €150,000 will go towards the Ulster Canal Greenway between Smithborough and Clones, close to €6 million for improvement works, and over €500,000 for maintenance works.
While funding of €1 million has been earmarked for upgrade works to the N2 between Ardee and Castleblayney, there is no funding for the Clontibret to the border section of this scheme.
Meanwhile, Cavan benefits from an allocation of €16.2 million, with €7 million to be spent on the Corduff to Killydoon stretch on the N55.
€150,000 of the allocation will be spent on the Cavan Railway under the county's greenway schemes, €15.6 million will be used for improvement works, while close to €500,000 of this funding will be used for maintenance works.
Cavan/Monaghan TD Brendan Smith said it's a "significant funding" allocation and complimented Cavan and Monaghan County Councils on their planning and design of these road projects which are now being progressed".
