Further funding has been provided for community first responders in County Monaghan.
On Friday, local Minister Heather Humphreys confirmed to Northern Sound that funding of around €37,000 had been secured to purchase a second transport vehicle for Crocus Monaghan.
The funding, under the CLÁR Programme, purchases vehicles that will be used to transport cancer patients, blood samples and medicine for terminally ill children.
Elsewhere in Co Monaghan, it's been confirmed this morning that Monaghan Civil Defence will receive just over €66,000 for a new wheelchair accessible van for community use.
Meanwhile, Cú Chulainn Blood Bikes will benefit from €20,000 for a jeep which will be used to transfer blood samples from local hospitals to labs, and to transport medicine to terminally ill children being nursed at home.
The €124,000 of funding for Monaghan is part of a €1.62 million announcement nationwide.
