The funding will allow for the development of a number of projects.

Fianna Fáil Councillor John Paul Feeley has warmly welcomed the allocation of €6 million to allow for the implementation of the Cuilcagh Masterplan. This allocation will allow for the development of a visitors centre on the site of the old post office in Glangevlin. Cllr Feeley arranged for the Council to purchase this site with a view to improving facilities for visitors to the area as we expect numbers to increase substantially with the completion of the Visitors Centre at the Shannon Pot in the near future. The funding will also allow for the development of access to St John's Waterfall near the Tullydermot Falls. It will also provide for conservation measures on Cuilcagh and the development of additional walking trails around Cuilcagh.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Feeley says this "significant allocation" from the shared island unit will be extremely valuable to the entire border region. He also highlighted how this funding will help progress local projects like the Glangevlin Visitor Centre:
